Simple Handprint Turkey
Last updated December 08, 2006
Materials:

  • 1 sheet construction paper or cardstock
  • non-toxic washable tempera paint in brown and a variety of fall colors
  • 1 paint brush or sponge brush
  • black fine-tip marker

  • Directions:

    - Coat child's palm and thumb with brown paint.

    - Coat child's fingers with a variety of fall colors (i.e., one finger orange, the next yellow, the next red, etc.)

    - Stamp hand on paper or cardstock. Using a thumb dipped in red paint, add the snood at the turkey's neck, and with orange or red paint, add feet with a finger. Allow to dry.

    - Using a fine-tip black marker, add eye, beak, or any other desired detail.

This can be used to make a cute Thanksgiving card. Our daughter's preschool teacher included the following poem inside:

    This isn't just a turkey
    As anyone can see
    This very special turkey
Was made by hand by me!
